Does anyone know how I can create a preconfigured agent install, and make it a package for the users to install without any user intervention.

You can use an answer file (.inp) in conjunction with the aclient installer. This would let you preconfigure the installation however you want. You would then just need to have a batch/vbscript etc that the end user would double click. This of course would require the end user having the rights necessary to install.

You could also create a job in the software delivery portal for this if you were using it.

Have you tried the "Remote Agent Install"?

This will install the agent on clients as needed (assuming they are on your domain) - you can install the client with desired configuration to multiple clients with at once.

We use this all the time and works just fine.
