communications between aclient and Deployment Server

We're new to Altiris and have setup Deployment Server 6.9 build 164. We are having a problem with computer suddenly going inactive in the deployment console when we know they are not. I can get them active again by doing a restart on the aclient service. Does anyone know of a document that describes the communications/protocol that go on between the aclient and the DS servers, to help us figure out why they are going inactive? Thanks

Our networking people did the following to correct the problem.
We have problems with our packets coming though as being spoofed so we turned off antispoofing protection as well as out of state TCP packets being dropped

I agree. Most likely a network problem. The aclient should always talk to the Altiris server. Packets may be dropping.
