I finally got registered for this year's event, although I haven't booked a hotel and flight yet. I can't stay at Marriott or Ritz unfortunately due to the cost being over the Gov't per diem rate ($109), so I once I get everything I booked I should have a car rental that I could use to take some people from the airport to Marriott for the dinner meet-up.

Call the hotel directly and ask if they can meet your per diem rate. That used to work for me when I traveled on the government's dime.

When you call them, remind them that there are a lot of people from a certain website that will "elect" to eat at fine dining establishments other than the ones at their location should they choose not to help you.

I tried calling the hotel, no luck. they will only give me the gov't rate if I have cut orders for the event from the government. Which I don't have nor will I since I am just a government contractor. I was hoping I could get by showing my government identification badges, but I guess my luck wasn't strong today.

That sucks! Some places are more lenient about needing orders and will accept your badge.

2 parties?
Was there two meetups? I looked around the Lobby Lounge looking for the Altirigos meetup (although I have no idea what any of guys look like), and I happen to run into jenifer.arnold with her husband along with frank6666, but I thought there would be a bigger turnout. The four of had a great time and we met quite a few times throughout the conference, but I was just curious if there was another group of Altirigos that maybe we missed on Sunday. Overall I think the conference was pretty good, I didn't win any laptops or that $10,000 but I had a good time. What about everyone else?

I had a pretty good time, I was rocking out with the Canucks on Rockband and won one of the HP session drawings for a mini-note.
Still can't believe that my user group (Kansas City) didn't make it to the finals of the user group challenge. The times some of the other teams put up, was just insane.

Well, I had a great time introducing myself to the various groups of guys in the lobby lounge on Sunday night. Then I gave up and let people find me. I thought my Alaska shirt was obvious. :-)
And I think I'm moving to Toronto before the next ManageFusion. Those guys won EVERYTHING!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet with more of you.

MF was great! I got to meet this guy named Nick that runs some sort of a off-beat Altiris website where supposedly cool people hang out and write about Altiris, but other than that didn't get to meet very many! Congratulations to Setral though....was there for his winning moment!
