I guess I'm late to the game, but I just heard about Altiris Protect, and it really looks like a great product especially from what I read here: Software Virtualization Blog » What is Altiris Protect?. I see that Symantec/Altiris stopped supporting this application in the fall of '07, but my question to guys is do you know why this was discontinued? was it replaced by another product? I am currently looking for a solution that does exactly what this did. I saw this post: The Perfect XP System | jw, which was also very interesting, but it requires Deep Freeze. Not that there is anything wrong with deep freeze, but we've never purcahsed anything from Faronics before.

The last I heard, Protect was no longer being developed. I don't know the reason why it was discontinued though.

Altiris Protect 1.1.5 Available | Altiris Juice

From I can tell the Protect features are supposed to rolled up into SVS 3.0, but I wasn't sure if anyone else had some insight on it. I tried sending a PM to Scott Jones about his on Juice, if I hear anything back I'll keep you guys posted.
