Emulating the Directory Connector?

We have a rule in \Configuration\Server Settings\Notification Server Infrastructure that imports AD groups into the NS on a regular basis. However, I would like to emulate this behaviour using the ASDK.

That's to say that I want to create an AD group and then have the group "imported" into the NS (as if we had just run the rule). However, I can't seem to figure out what the Directory Connector actually does! I can see that it creates a collection in \Resource Management\Collections\Directory Collections\MYDOMAIN with the same name but what else does it do? I only ask because if use the ASDK to create a collection in \Resource Management\Collections\Directory Collections\MYDOMAIN directly (using CreateCollection) it does not appear to be enough as the AD group does not show up in the list of imported AD groups.

You probably want to hit the ExecuteSchedulableItem call...then you just need the GUID of the directory import.

I do this with Connector imports all the time and it works like a charm.
