Connector renaming assets

Hi Guys'n'Gals,

I'm new to the Asset Management suite and need a little guidance...

I need to import a simple db of workstation life cycle information (serial number, install date, warranty expiry date & review date).

I created a data class called computer warranty and linked it to the computer resource type.

I then setup the connector to import the db, which completes without error.
BUT when I browse the resources (resources -> Asset Types -> IT -> Computer),
all the computers have been renamed to match the serial numbers.

I guess that's caused by the resource name filed in the connector import configuration.

How can I get the resource name field to match the workstation's name as reported in the inventory, considering that our node names sometimes change as workstations are rolled down during upgrades ?

Is it possible to have the inventory resource names sync to the asset names automagically ?

MustangNut,

Under the Resource Lookup Key (required) fields you will see the "Resource Name:". I believe you need to leave that as -- Select a Column -- instead of chosing from the drop down list. This should leave your resource name the same as the inventory name.
