BCD error with WinPE in DS 6.9 SP1

Wondering if anyone else who upgraded to 6.9 SP1 has experienced this strange problem...

My WinPE configuration will no longer boot on most machines. I get a Vista bootloader error saying that the BCD data could not be read (0xc000001).

The strange thing is that it works fine on older machines. A Dell GX270 will boot, but a 745 or 755 will not, with the same exact configuration, from the same PXE server.

My first inclination is that it's related to the HDD controller (since the GX270 is IDE and the 755 is SATA), but PE 2.1 natively supports AHCI...and it worked fine prior to the SP1 upgrade.

Any thoughts? My next test is to go back to the older version of PE 2.1 (the one that shipped with 6.9, no service pack).

solution yet

Have you found a solution yet????

we just upgraded to 6.9 sp1 and are having the same problem with Dell 755's. We also not able to now PXE to our VM boxes to create new servers and such. It goes into a DHCP loop trying to validate the IP address after WINPE downloads and boots.

Thanks,

For the 0xc000001 problem install the Maintenence Pack 1 for DS 6.9 SP1.
Four your second problem you need to add the NIC Drivers to the WinPE Boot Image.
I had the same problems and solved them with this solutions.

MP1 didn't fix the problem

We installed MP1 and it didn't fix the problem for winpe. DOS has continued to work but not WINPE on any hardware.

The sad thing about both of these problems is that everything was working fine until the 6.9 sp1 install. We were already at 6.9 with no problems on any of this. (just crying a little bit)
