Image Freezes During Mini-Setup
First hello to all, this is my first post on altirigos. Now to the nitty gritty. I have created an image that spans the following platforms from Dell: D600,D610,D620,D420,D810,D820,GX270,GX280,GX620. The image deploys to all machines and starts to run mini-setup (I have the mini-setup configured to run fully unattended and log onto the machine 1x as admin). Most hadware platforms run right through the mini-setup and log into windows installing all the drivers automatically. It seems however that some of the machines freeze durning min-setup, the odd part is if I power down the frozen machine and boot back up it will complete the mini-setup and log into windows installing all the drivers? It seems to only happen on the D420 and GX620 machines that I can tell as of right now. Has anyone ran into this type of situation before?
A little more background: The drivers or under the local C:\ and the driver paths are set in the registry under HKLocalMachine-software-Microsoft-Windows-Current Version-Devicepath.
thank you in advance.

mini-setup freezing
I ran across the same problem with our D410 models. I installed a hotfix from Microsoft as I built the image and the issues resolved.
The KB article the patch references is 883667.

Wow that was fast! thank you for the quick response. I will look into that now, and will try to install the fix on the image tomorrow. I will follow up with my findings. Thank you again!

I've had the same issue with Fujitsu T4210s. I more considered it a nuisance though until now. Did you have to open a support call with MS, or just an email did the trick?
Thanks.

I just sent them a quick e-mail stating my problem and referencing the KB article. I then requested a download link for the hotfix. I received and e-mail within 24 hours. I also had an issue with an audio driver that wouldn't auto install during mini setup, the driver was physically there you just needed to manually add it when the "found new hardware" box pops up. I found another hotfix for that particular driver and now it auto installs. Very nice to see it all come up fully unattended. Let me know if you need any help, I consider myself a newbie but if I can help I'm more than willing haha

Can someone post the link or the files for this fix. We've kind of got an emergency and I need to fix it as soon as possible.

Just call Microsoft with the KB numbers. They'll e-mail them to you while you're on the phone. Unless they're already in the file repository here...I haven't looked.

Can someone upload the file to the file repository. It sucks calling MS for this. They should make the fix available to everyone.
