Hello,

I hope someone can help me with this (I hope) trivial problem.

At my company we are moving from DOS based PXE deployment of HII imaging to WINPE deployment.

DS version is 6.8 SP2. <-- Company standard for all sites.

So far the gold base image we have works using either DOS or WINPE. WINPE being allot faster and being more flexible seems the route forward.

The only issue I have is that the scripts we use for specifying the computer model for drivers does not complete.

The Aclient is running after the image has been downloaded, then the script starts to run, well all I see before the DOS box closes is the first line of the script.

There are no errors in firm.log on the DS and the task itself does not complete and is still pending to run even though it's failed and the PC has rebooted.

The script settings are:

Script Run Location = On Client Computer
Client Run Environment = Automation pre-boot environment (WinPE Managed 32bit selected)

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I managed to fix this problem by using xcopy instead of firm.

In 6.9 SP1, the firm executable you run in DOS and the version you run in WinPE is different.

For Windows:
.\RDeploy\Windows\firm.exe

For DOS:
.\RDeploy\DOS\firm.exe
or just "firm.exe" from the root of the express share

At least that's my understanding!... and I'm not sure if 6.8 differs!
