I am trying to figure out something that has been bugging me for a while without any resolution. It seems that every time we upgrade our Deployment Solution the web console is always showing that the current version we have installed is ready for download. For example we recently upgraded from Deployment Solution 6.9 Sp1 to Sp2. Everything about the new deployment solution seem to be working fine. However, the web console is showing that 6.9 Sp2 is ready for download. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Also in the past we have tried downloading the update directly through the console by navigating to Configuration > Currently Installed > and Clicking update for Deployment Solution. The update seems to download fine. However, come install time, we get an error stating that we do not have the correct permissions setup, even when attempting to do the install as AltirisAdmin. Since we have not had any luck ever doing the install from the console, we simply follow the advice posted on:
Altiris™ Deployment Solution from Symantec 6.9 SP2 | Symantec Connect. However, starting at version 7 apparently Symantec will be forcing you to download the Deployment Solution only through the console. So I am thinking we should probably get this taken care of sooner rather than later. Also every other type of install Inventory Solution ect, can update and install through the console just fine. Any help is greatly appricated.
