How many technical trainers does your company have?
I'm trying to get an idea of the average amount of technical trainers in a company. I understand some places will outsource this so I'm looking for any type of metrics.
Amount of users, sites, full time, part time, or web based training?
Right now our helpdesk has about 14 technicians and supports 3400 users worldwide in about 40 offices. (yes, Altiris has helped GREATLY in lowering our support costs). Recently we were asked to start training sessions for our users. Local sessions for our larger offices and web based sessions for our smaller/remote offices.
I'm eager to start this up for our company but I'd like some metrics to support hiring more technicians/trainers if this takes off.
A previous company I worked for was an accounting firm and with just 500 users, they had 1 full time on-site trainer.
