ok so now im in a bind..
all works great...
i have windows 7 where i can drop the image.... and copy in the sysprep.xml with computer name fixed by replacetokens

however.. in the
c:\windows\system32\sysprep\panther directory.. sysprep.xml still exists in there... which is fine for now... so i edit it... and my computer name is changed... and my domain account info is in there...

well computer name was not changed and computer did not join the domain....

any ideas?

also im on ds 6.9 sp2 (is sp3 needed for joindomain to work right?)

Sysprep/WSIM

There is a bug/known issue with using Windows System Image Manager and Sysprep, where the Join Domain step happens before setting the Computer Name.

Therefore when it joins AD it has its generic name, then when you enter the machine name, the machine name will change but AD doesn't.
