Upgrading from 6.5 to 6.9

Got a client that's running DS 6.5 win32 conole and wishes to upgrade to the latest and greatest. Can this be done in one hit or do I need to upgrade via 6.8?

Many thanks for the links. I've been overseas for a while and only just got back to this.
Going to try this in a virtual environment before sorting the client's installation out.
