DS 6.0 upgrade
I am upgrading from DS 6.0 and NS 5.5 to DS 6.1SP2, NS 6.0, adding a WSUS server. Does anyone know of any problems that might occur during the upgrade process or any tips?

Upgrading from NS 5.x to NS 6x was never something that was pretty to me. Essentially all you end up doing is saving your database, remove all solutions, install new 6.0 and attach to the old database.
I always ended up with more headache than anything else when trying to keep the old database and therefore would just create a new one.
But that is just my experience.

DS 6.0 to 6.1 isn't too bad. I've had success with that in the past.
I wouldn't recommend an upgrade from DS 5.6 to 6.1.

Is an upgrade from DS 5.6 to DS 6.1 even possible or is it really just a new install? Also, can the "upgrade" be done over remote connection?

Has anyone had a problem with the new client push?

All installs should be done at the server console, not over terminal services.

What is the recommended process then to upgrade deployment servers on a global scale?
Edit: Would it be enough to install using the console session?

The console session will work most of the time when installing DS. In fact, I haven't run into an instance where it doesn't work. That said, there are plenty of problems documented at Altiris that can be traced back to an install/upgrade of either NS or DS using terminal services or TS with the /console switch.
DS has the capability of handling an unattended installation. Look at the docs for more information. That may help you if you're looking at a global rollout.

I've been trying to setup an unattended install of the DS using the axinstall. No luck so far, if anyone has it down I'd love to hear about it.
