Processor type: Unknown

Hello.
I have installed NS7 and have two issues with inventory solution:
1.- In hardware inventory reports all processor types appear as: Unknow...

In the report I can see another params like mem, hard disk .. fine.
The issue are on W2k3 and W Xp boxes.

2.- With Windows Vista SP1 machines the Altiris agent crashes when I run a "full inventory task".

Any idea?

I don't know about your first issue, but the Altiris Agent crashing on Vista during an inventory task is a known issue.

The commentary on the second problem is purely informational, two months ago I reported this case to Symantec and they have not offered any solution.

I'm coming back to this thread because I just ran a report yesterday and saw a lot of what you described, with the processor type listed as "unknown". Have you reported this issue to Symantec by any chance? If not, I'll start a call on Monday.

Hello Jessek.

I have not called Symantec´s support. I Have not a good experience wiht him.. I pay for support but only call as a last resource..

Now I am working on another issue. When I get my system up and runnig I will call they about the inventory issue.

I will update this post when have more info...

I just searched for this and found that it's a known issue. Symantec is aware of the problem and is providing a workaround.
