Where in the console does it say 6.1.1044.0?

What version are the Inventory executables in NSCAP?

Try uninstalling Inventory Solution then manually cleaning out all Inventory Solution bits including:

- %programfile%\altiris\setup files
- %windir%\installer
- %windir%\assembly
- %programfiles%\altiris\inventory solution

For the installer folder you may find it easier to add a column for manufacturer.
