testing monitor solution

I have been testing monitor solution on some windows server boxes and it looks as if it will meet most of our needs

I have the windows 2003 basic and dell monitor packs enabled. If l pull the power out from one of power supplies the dashboard updates. Tick in the box, excellent.

If l turn a server off that is being monitored, it doesn't to update the dashboard that the server is off. I presume l need to configure a ping metric or similar?

Right. Monitor Solution doesnt have a heartbeat monitor so to speak. Reason why Site Monitor was alive before EoL.

Havent played much with the 7 beta but I am pretty sure Site and Monitor solution are now one product.
