Already bought it. I have the first edition and it helped make our transition from 5.5 to 6.0 very smooth. It's also great for a reference/memory refresher of where things are on the web console.

My situation is this. I am in charge of our Deployment Servers but have been denied permission to also manage our Notification Servers due to the fear that I will learn too much, become too valuable, then leave and make millions of dollars with some other company (thanks Nick!). So, I have been forced to setup my own little NS environment at home and by way of the forums, training manuals, and other NS savants, I have been quickly learning the basics.

Now, my question is this. Would purchasing the book be recommended for someone who is looking to really learn the ins-and-outs of the NS? I have pretty much learned all about the DS from hands-on experience, but do not have the same luxury with the NS. My 3 clients don't provide much of a challenge...

Andrew,

Why dont you take a look at the Table of Content for the second edition and see what you think?

I know it's been a while since this thread started, but has anyone bought this and read through it yet? What are your impressions?

I purchased it and read it. It is a great introduction and reference guide for beginning to intermediate users. Those with experience with the product may find it basic.
