Interesting HelpDesk site
I just came across THIS site and found it worth mentioning.
I specifically found the Service Request Form Template VERY interesting. Anyone that uses the HelpDesk solution should check this out.
I haven't had a chance to get my hands on it but I plan to. If anyone else does before I do let me know what you think.

Thank you very much for the plug, Nick
If anyone has any questions about it, I will be happy answer them. I have never tried selling software like this before, but I was so happy with the way the form worked, that I decided to try.
I really think this light little template is perfect for bulding quick custom forms for the new service catalog in HD 6 SP5.
Thanks again,

yum. i'd buy that form template in a heartbeat. its exactly what we need.
only if management were keen on that kind of thing...
instead they have to make things as difficult and cumbersome as possible.

Here's a screenshot of a form built with the template. It is a copy of a form from the website of one of the larger computer manufacturers. The form was built using only the New Task command in the Helpdesk (the little chunks of HTML for the section headers were added as custom strings to a resource library)

Is helpdesk 6 SP5 required for these forms. It's something that I've been tentatively approved to get for the organization, but I need to fill out my justification stuff.

Unable to get the plug-in
I found this when I visited this site yesterday and he wanted to jump on the chance because this was exactly something we've been talking about doing.
He placed an order and never got anything. Also the link referenced on this site is down.
Any ideas?

Hello John,
My ISP was having problems this morning with the server my website is hosted on and I just got back on to it myself. I got notification of a payment made by e-cheque by someone called Jeff and though the funds will not clear for 4 days, I have sent him a copy of the code.
I haven't received notification of a payment from anyone with your name yet. As soon as I do you will be sent the code.

I have had this code for quite a while now. It was developed from work I did on a very complex custom form about a year ago. I figured out a way of automating and simplifying the databinding to the workitem in the database. It was handy with SP4 for building forms based on XML input, but when I saw the beta of Helpdesk SP5 a few weeks ago, I realized I finally had a very practical use for this code.
You can create forms using this for SP4. The forms would be presented as tasks associated with incidents, but it is in no way as perfect a fit as it is with Service Pack 5. It could also be modified to read the initial input from XML files on the server, which is how it was originally conceived. SP5 will be on general release in 2 or 3 weeks, so you don't have long to wait.
If you do really want to purchase it, you may not have much time left as I have received some very interesting offers on the code which I can not really refuse. The current price of the module in no way reflects on its utility according to some of the feedback I have received. I plan to build a special admin page to make building these forms as foolproof as possible and this code and all updates will be provided to anyone who has purchased the code directly from me. I am not trying to push anyone into a purchase, but I just wanted to warn you that it may not be available at this "introductory" price for much longer. It will definitely still be available for purchase, but probably not directly from me.
A special thanks to everyone who has taken the chance on purchasing the code as I am sure none of you has ever heard anything about me, and a kind word also for the wonderful feedback that I have received. A new version is almost ready to be posted to my forum. This extends the form by fixing some small anomolies and introduces a new "contact" control which allows the end user to look up contacts from the database.
Thanks,
|

Still being offered?
Is this form builder still available? Those of you that have been using this product, what has your experience been like?
Best regards,
Chris

It is available here.
thaweekan.com » Service Request Form Template
This same functionality will probably be available in NS7 Sevice Desk when it becomes available

Suppport documents and forum
Has anyone been able to contact Janjira lately? We purchased this but have unsuccessfully been able to get a hold of him for some support questions. We also don't have access to the Customer section of his forum to see the updated documents and posts of examples of his forms.
If anyone still has access to that section of the forum, can they please see if converting the form to pdf, form validations and how to get auxData info are there?

Does anyone know if this is still available? It doesn't look like his site has been updated for a couple years.

I'm not sure if it's available. I've been using it for a year now. Thing is with Workflow available this won't be of much use anymore with the new Service Desk.

I agree with rdvanorman that Workflow and SD7 makes this unnecessary but if you would like the files, I think I still have them lying around somewhere.

I agree with you guys about this being unnecessary with SD7 and Workflow, but unfortunatly we are going to be stuck with Helpdesk 6 for a little while. I would love the files if you have them Aryanos!

Files?
Anybody have this? We're stuck with Helpdesk 6 for a couple more years. I'd like to try this out.

You really need to go to the site and order it to be fair to the developer.
