Software Audit Report

Hi folks,

I am trying to run a Report to find machines not running a specific piece of software. The application has a specific service in Windows as well as an executable which displays in the "Aex SW Audit Software" table. I have tried running my query against the "Aex AC NT Services" table, it will show me the machines that are running the service but when I reverse the query (not equal to) , it won't display machines that are not running the service. I think it has to do with the keys in the table, a primary key is assigned to each service running on a machine.

Has anyone any suggestion how I could write a query to return machines that are not running a particular piece of software....thanks in advance

Regards,

Hi,
In general, you get the Guids of the computers that do have the software, then exclude them from the main query. Something like this:

Select _ResourceGuid
From Inv_Aex_AC_NT_Services
Where _ResourceGuid Not In (
Select _ResourceGuid
From Inv_Aex_AC_NT_Services
Where [Name] = 'your service'
)
