Change default admin password for unattended deployment scripts

Hello,

I'm looking for a more elegant way to have a unified field I can edit and in turn change all default passwords for the local admin accounts for my deployment jobs.

Changing default.txt file in osconfig folder, replacing 'password' with a token doesn't seem to work? It says it cannot find the resulting unattend file. Or is that just a coding issue and it didn't like the %password% token pointing to ' $Rhubarb] ' as the password?

But I was told that there is a centralized command / override already offered somewhere in Altiris to change the password that is listed in the default.txt files?

Sorry if I didn't fair the best with describing the request,
Any feedback is wonderful.

Thanks, you,

-Aaron

Did you do a replacetokens on it?

This seems excessive but, you could make a new database for this then set up a custom data source to it. Then for that file you would use a token like:

Code:
%#Custom*"select myLocalAdminPass from PasswordTable"%
The only utility I know of isn't made to do what you're asking if I understand right, \\dsserver\express\PWUtil.exe
