Create custom tables in the Altiris database?

Is it ok to create/add cutom tables in the Altiris database? What we want to do is set up some stored proceedures to copy a few tables into the Altiris database from our HR Information database. These tables would be named unique names so as not to conflict with existing tables used by Altiris already. Is this ok to do or is there a better way to do this?

Thanks,
Gabriel

My understanding is that the "approved" way to do this is to use Connector Solution:

Chapter 11 of the Notfication Server 6 SP3 ref manual refers.

Create:

1/ A new Data Class (or use built in)
2/ A new Resource type (or use built in)
3/ A Data Source
4/ An Import rule with a schedule.

See chapter 4 of Asset Control and Contract Management Solution 6.2 Product Guide.
