Question Disable Altriis Agent to call AClntUsr.EXE

Hi Volks,
We use Altiris RDP to install and configure our terminal servers. In user testphase we noticed a precess called "AClntUsr.EXE" is running in every user session..

Some engineering hours later...

Altiris Agent is configured to autostart as a Service on the Terminal Server (Altiris Target Device) on system startup. As the service (ACLIENT.EXE) starts it checks HKLM\..\..\Windows\current version\run key for an entry to launch AClntUsr.EXE. It also checkes whether the file exists.
So to delete the reg key or rename the file is not working in this case...

How can i configure the start behavior of AClntUsr.EXE? Goal is to not start AClntUsr.EXE under every user, launiching a terminal session.

Best Regards
Mirco

I think it is necesarry to be part of everyone session ID by design. Why would you disable it?

Hi Brandon,

AClntUsr.EXE is not necessary for communication between altiris and target device. As there is no AClntUsr.EXE process at all, as long no user is loged on to the terminal server. In our scenario we really don't need this process... beleve me... Altiris communication works fine trough Altiris Service (ACLIENT.EXE) anyway...

nobody having any constructive ideas?

Best Regards
Mirco

Search the AKB. There are multiple articles on it.

Hi Branden,

Thx for your very simple and constructive answer! Of course a simple query to AKB solved my problem:

*grmpf* I'm not able to post a link... What the F**** anyway... just search the process name in AKB...

Thank you!

Have a nice day!
