We are in the process of making several of our package servers virtual and bring them into one location. Really want to know if anyone experienced problems with bandwidth after doing anything like that.

Our current set up is:
1 Notification server
4 Deployment servers
154 package servers
Serving approx 10,000 devices

Currently all of the package servers are spread out across our state, but we want to bring a number of them in-house and make them virtual but that means some things that use to go over the LAN will now go over the WAN to the clients. Hoping not to kill my bandwidth.

We've virtualized some of our package servers and task servers. It works fine as long as you alocate adequate disk space and bandwidth.

I had to convince our server team that these needed to be on a cluster with less traffic because they were going to be fairly active.

Other than that, it's fine. It should give you no problems if your vm environment is reliable.

We moved all our packages servers ( 18 ) to a VM servers
Only 1gb of ram and good disk space

No issues

Now the NS I am testing now
