Compiling a VBS using Wise Script Editor
I'm using Wise Package Studio 7.0 sp3. I'm compiling a small VBsript using WiseScripting Editor. I've successfully compiled the script into an exe file. What I need some guidance on is how or what settings I need to modify before compiling.. so, the exe file (when excuted) will not take up the entire screen with a blue background. I would like the executable to function in a small window and not the entire screen.
Any gudiance would be greatly appreciated.

why not create an msi instead of an exe? you could then take advantage of all the msi switches.
when creating your msi make sure it's set to install per system instead of per user.

Almanza,
Thanks for the reply. I’m new to Wise… so I’m not sure if I’m asking the question right.
I wrote a vbs script that a user can run at any time on his/her os. When executed the script displays a menu allowing the user to make a selection. Based on that selection an action would occur. I’m compiling the vbs code into an exe file using Wise so the user doesn’t have access to it.
You saying I can create an msi file to accomplish the same task?
If so, what are the basic steps to get started?
Thanks,

Ok, think i understand what your trying to accomplish...
When you launch the vb script does it display in full screen mode or does this only happen using the exe you created? check the properties of the exe for any options that may help
There are some free utilities out there that allow you to create exe out of vbs which may help.
Wise is used to package software installs and allows you to modify the windows that are displayed during the installation so this might not be the best tool to use for your particular project.

What I use is a little tool called "Reg2exe":
Download Reg2exe 2.25 Build 2006.02.20 - Creates 'self-importing' executables from Windows Registry files - Softpedia
Basically, you extract the Reg2exe from the zip and double click it. - You should see "Register" and "Close" buttons.
- Click "Register" and then the "Close" button.
- Right-click on the target .reg file and you should see a context menu item called "Convert to EXE".
- Let 'er rip! In a coupla seconds, you'll have a bright shiny executable, ready for a NS SWD task.
This little gem aint "Wise", but it'll do in a pinch!
Cheers,

Thank you both Almanza and GeoMac,
I checked the properties settings on the compiled exe file but it didn't have any setting to modify the display the way I wanted it. So... I found one of those free utilities you mentioned and I was able to compile the vbs file into an exe. The utility is called vbstoexe.
Thanks again for your assistance.
