Workflow Solution Licensing
Hello,
How many product should be licensed to use workflow solution?
- Workflow Server?
- Workflow Designer?
- Symantec Workflow?
- Locked Server?
I don't know what the last two are exactly...
Thanks,

Thanks to David_King
The only licenses that matter for Workflow are called 'Server License' and 'Designer License'. Anything else is legacy from the beta and will be removed by development at some point. They serve no purpose in the current code.

Thanks for the update on this.
I was afraid that it would cost near 50k just to get started with Workflow to use basic functionality.

Interestingly enough, these components automatically install with workflow but workflow is not dependant on them. Workflow is quite autonomous. I may be mistaken, but my understanding is that they will not require you to buy Asset/Helpdesk/CMDB licenses when you buy workflow and you can simply remove the other solutions.

Just to add more info to a slightly old topic . .... word around the campfire is that WF will be cheaper while the 6.x releases of NS are sold. When 7 comes around an additional SKU will appear for WF to allow native support of clustered WF servers and other enterprise features.
And licenses are handled by designer not by WF server installation, IIRC.

TRYDL,
Any update on this now with 7 released? Did cost go up? I am just now starting to look at what WF is all about.

Yeah cost went up but I dont know by percentage. Things like advanced workflow are now bundled with the process manager.
If you need more details, I can ask around.
